Privacy Policy

Here's what moki collects, why, who touches it, and the choices you get — including how we handle the ideas you submit. Plain language, no dark patterns.

moki, and what this policy covers

moki (usemoki.com) is an idea-triage tool that scores a product idea and returns a make / hold / kill call. In this policy, “moki,” “we,” and “us” mean the team behind usemoki.com. It covers the moki website and app.

02 · What we collect & why

Three things, each for a clear reason

Usage analytics — Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how people find and use moki, so we can improve it. In regions where the law requires consent (the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), a banner asks before any analytics cookies are set. Elsewhere it is on by default.

If you accept, Google Analytics works normally. If you decline or ignore the banner, we fall back to a cookieless, anonymized mode: no analytics cookies, IP addresses truncated, and only aggregate counts — nothing that identifies you personally.

Ad measurement — X (Twitter) Ads

We run ads on X (Twitter), and we measure whether they work: when you arrive from one of our ads and start an audit, we report that conversion to X — from your browser via the X pixel, and from our server with the ad click id, your IP address, and browser user agent.

In regions where the law requires consent (the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland), none of this happens unless you acceptthe banner. Elsewhere it is on by default. We never send X your email, your ideas, or anything you type — only that an audit started. X's handling of this data is covered by X's privacy policy.

Payments — Stripe

When you buy credits, Stripeprocesses the payment. We never receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data directly. We keep a record that a purchase happened (amount, credits, date) to run your account. Stripe's handling of your payment data is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.

Account & audit data

If you create an account, we store your email (to sign you in) and the ideas you submit for scoring, along with their audit results — so you can come back to them later.

03 · Your ideas & confidentiality

We protect your idea inside moki. We can't make it exclusively yours.

Your ideas are the whole point of moki, so we guard them like it. The database and every idea in it get serious technical care — access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and least-privilege handling. We do not sell your ideas. We share them only with the processors needed to produce your audit — AI model providers that score the idea, a search-data provider that reads live demand, and our cloud hosting and database — each acting on our instructions.

An honest limit

We can protect your idea inside moki, but we cannot make an idea exclusively yours. The same or a similar idea can independently occur to other people — including people who have never used moki — and any of them may build and ship it before you do.

That is the nature of ideas, not a breach of this policy. We have no control over it, and we make no promise, guarantee, or claim of exclusivity, priority, or ownership over any idea you enter.

04 · Cookies

What we set, and when

  • Essential — your sign-in session, your language choice, and your consent decision. Required for the site to work; not used for tracking.
  • Analytics (optional) — set by Google Analytics. In consent regions these are set only if you accept the banner; decline, and none are set. Elsewhere they are set by default.
  • Advertising (optional) — set by the X (Twitter) pixel to measure our ad campaigns, including a first-party cookie that remembers the ad click that brought you here. In consent regions these are set only if you accept the banner.
  • Payments — Stripe may set cookies needed to process a payment securely.

05 · Who we share with

The processors behind moki

We use a small set of processors to run moki. They act on our instructions, and we do not sell your personal data or your ideas to anyone.

  • Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
  • X (Twitter) Ads — ad conversion measurement.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • AI model providers — to score your idea and generate the audit.
  • A search-data provider — to read live search demand for your idea.
  • Cloud hosting & database — to run the service and store your account and ideas.

06 · Your rights & deletion

Ask us to delete your data

You can ask us to delete your account, your ideas, and the personal data tied to them. Email hello [at] usemoki.comfrom the address on your account and we'll take care of it.

One thing we can't delete: analytics.Google Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized — it isn't linked to you by name — so by its nature we cannot single out and remove “your” analytics record. Declining the consent banner keeps you in the cookieless, non-identifying mode from the start.

07 · Retention

How long we keep things

We keep your account, ideas, and audit history for as long as your account is active, and remove them on request. Purchase records may be kept longer where needed for accounting and legal reasons.

If this changes
